Edward Steichen said “A portrait is not made in the camera but on either side of it.” The art of portratiture needs to translate what goes on in the person's mind and consciousness into the picture. It tells the story of not only the psychology and personality of the subject but also the particular emotion one is going through at a given time. This myriad of emotions makes one speak to the portrait and each person has a deeply personal connection with the portrait one is viewing. That's what makes this art a joy forever.
